Slip Into Style
For us, handbags and shoes are the finishing touches to any outfit. Our usual uniform (jeans with sandals for the day) can be formalized instantly with a little heel and a clutch for a night on the town. We also take our LBD from the office to dinner just by switching out those two little details. Shoes go hand-in-hand with bags and allow us to transition our favorite wardrobe staples to fit with any and all occasions. So naturally, they became a staple part of our collection.
In terms of our current assortment, it's obviously super hard to pick a favorite. At the moment, my go-to is our Linen Slide - I literally wear it with anything & everything! My usual look includes the slide paired with my cropped white jeans and a (usually striped) sweater. Add in our tote and weekender, and you’re ready to get from work to the weekend and everywhere in between! Chloe is a little more partial to our Smoking Slippers. They’re classy, like her. This particular style is great with jeans, slacks or a skirt for work, and with something a little more casual on the weekends, like boyfriend jeans and our crossbody to bop around town.
By now you know that we’re all about the intersection of form and function. The select pairs of shoes we’ve decided to run embody this idea and are all incredibly wearable but still elevate your style and aesthetic. Chloe and I were very intentional about the kinds of shoes we wanted to introduce, and over time we learned to love a little heel. Not only does it make shoes more comfortable, but who doesn’t want a little extra height to perk up your midweek style? When it comes to our current shoes, we implemented a rubber toe and heel on our leather last. While the structure is upheld by the leather, the rubber allows for additional comfort and durability. We’re hoping to expand the fabrications of our existing styles.
For this particular shoe we wanted to integrate a little bit of novelty, but nothing so bold that it would preclude you from wearing them in the office or to a meeting. So we worked with our manufacturer to identify a few subtle ways to mix in punchy shapes - a smiley face, an airplane taking off and landing, etc. The technique, known as Bombay, allows you to raise up the leather in a specific shape and use stitching (either contrasting or matching) along the outline.
And because we saw a BIG reaction to our slipper in our first season, we wanted a few ways to update it for the upcoming summer, so we ditched the back! Our slide has been such a fun style - I find myself wishing I could wear it even in the freezing winter weather! Enter this story, where we braved a blustery winter day to slip into this comfortable, go-to style (we fared much better once we were back in the warmth of the office).
All of this to say, we're constantly exploring new ways to bring our customers accessible luxury from head to toe. We're always open to feedback, so from our slides to our slippers let us know what you'd like to see more of this season!
